Let’s clear up some confusion. You will often hear that people hired a party tent or marquee for their event and in both cases they are correct. A party tent is a marquee and what you call it is largely a matter of where you are from. In Asia and the USA they tend to call them party tents while in the UK it’s often referred to as a marquee. So there you have it, mystery solved.

If you were to hire a tradesperson, most are not going to charge you to call around and give you a quote. There are of course some who do but we don’t think it’s right.

Our free site visits are an important part of the service we provide at the Party Tent company and our customers appreciate it!

Taking the time to accurately survey the area your event will be held is all part of delivering an outstanding service.

Marquee’s are not just for fields and lawns, they can also be erected on a variety of services including concrete. Marquees are more versatile than you might expect and do the job just as well on hard ground as they do on softer surfaces like grass. There will of course be differences in the setup. Obviously, you can’t sink a peg into concrete so on hard services we use heavy weights to firmly anchor down the structure.

If you opt for marquee hire that costs less than £500 we ask for a £100 deposit. For marquee hire that is anything over this amount, the deposit amount is 25% with the balance due on the day of delivery.

Don’t worry, you’ll find that we deliver on time and take your marquee away again just as efficiently when your event is over. We like to arrive no later than a day before to put the marquee up but if your event requires more planning and set up time, we of course allow for that by turning up earlier. Dismantling your marquee is usually done one or two days after your event but if you have any special requirements, we are happy to discuss prior to your event as part of the planning process.

Firstly, you will need to consider the number of guests. Typically, a smaller marquee will fit between 20 and 24 people, while a larger one will accommodate up to 200. Generally, you will pay a basic hire fee for a marquee. If you plan on hiring chairs and tables, you will need to factor in an additional cost.

Your marquee should be big enough to be comfortable allowing guests to move around without bumping in to each other or having to step outside to make room. It is always better order more space than you need rather than be too strict with dimensions.

During our free site visit we will ensure you pick the right size marquee for your event to make choosing the right size easie
